During the 20th century the environment has endured years of pollution, the effects of which are now becoming apparent. Put simply the mass consumption of non-renewable energy, and the fact that our attitude towards the environment has been careless, has polluted our atmosphere and put a huge drain on the earth's natural resources.
The pollutants in our atmosphere are often referred to as “Green House Gases" and they are invisible to us. If we could see the gases, we would all think very differently. It is widely regarded that these gases are building year on year and they are a real threat to our future. It is clear that we are now experiencing the effects of climate change, and some parts of the world are suffering massive drought, whilst others are experiencing extensive flooding, and natural habitats are being changed, in some cases destroyed.
For most of us climate change has not actually had a real effect on our day to day life. This doesn’t mean we haven’t noticed a difference, but the actual effect does not threaten the pattern of our life. Scientists are now warning us that they have factual evidence that climate change will continue to accelerate unless we change our attitude towards energy use, eventually we will no option than to change our attitudes towards energy use. The longer we leave it the more severe the changes will be to our environment and critically we will have to endure greater severities of weather and climate change. In addition the measures to combat these changes will also be more drastic. Essentially the longer we leave it the greater the cost to mankind, both financially and physically.
Frankly doing nothing is simply not an option, our energy consumption through non renewable sources has to change.
